Awak Ring Mathok, one of the founders of World Without Boundaries Fundation has left today on a journey back home to Southern Sudan, which he has not been back to for 23 years since he fled during the war to a refugee camp in Kenya. Awak's goal will be to investigate the best way we can achieve our goals as a charity in Southern Sudan.
The trip to Southern Sudan will be used to:
- Build on initial relations with the Southern Sudanese Government.
- Acquire land from the Government for development of schools.
- Meet with Sudan Production Aid (SUPRAID) to set up local office for storing shipped equipment.
- Connect with local communities and explain to them what we want to do.
- Investigate with local tradesmen prices for materials and building.
- Contribute to the running of Twic Olympics.
- Investigate security risks to volunteers.
The results from the trip will be used to determine the areas in which we will start working in first.
