About Us

Introduction

World Without Boundaries Foundation (WWBF) is an Australian based not-for-profit Incorporated Organisation, which was founded by Awak Ring Mathok and Dominik Ziomek in 2009.

Awak arrived in Australia in 1998 as a refugee. Due to war, Awak and his family were forced to leave their home land of Southern Sudan, spending 10 years of their lives living in a refugee camp in Kenya. Awak completed his education in Tasmania, where he spent two years at The Friends School, Elizabeth College, and went on to study engineering at the University of Tasmania completing his degree in Electrical Engineering in 2007.

Awak has been committed in assisting his own community in Hobart. He and a friend started a local football club, which mostly compromised of ex-refugee Africans as well as some other ex-refugee players from other parts of the world. He assisted in translation and interpreting to new incoming refugees to Tasmania.

Awak and Dominik met whilst studying engineering, and become friends due to their similarities in childhood. Dominik also arrived in Australia in 1990 as a migrant from Poland. They both went on to further education and in 2009 completed their Masters In Business Administration.

Knowing how privileged they both are for coming to Australia and getting an education, they decided that education was a key factor, which give the necessary tools for a country to develop and be sustainable on its own. This led to the formation of the World Without Boundaries Foundation.

The foundation’s primary focus is on the youth in disadvantaged areas of Southern Sudan, where war has left many children orphans, without education and healthcare. We believe that through education and health programs, we may be able to put back smiles on the faces of these children and help them forget the past traumas.
