One Tree School Project Update

• Building is well underway.
• Community helps by clearing land and donating bricks.
• Community names the school Adiongdit Primary School.

Due to the unrest in the area the project has been put on hold over the last few months.

This month Awak received a phone call from the elder of the community of Panyok regarding the school. The school has been given a name by the community and it is call Adiongdit Primary School.

Adiongdit was the highest elder of the community during his time. He died during the British colonial and was buried where the school is situated. He was a man with God’s gift of healing people. The entire community respected him and still regard him a man sent by God to do his duties.

The community donated bricks for the building of the school The whole community and especially the kids turned out in large numbers and cleared the land.

Construction has been under way with walls being erected for three classrooms.
